Fans of Lalocura are probably familiar with the 50-50 tobasiche-espadín mezcla* that Lalo loves to make, and those who have visited his palenque may have even tried batches his 50-50 san martinero-espadín, which, to our palates, is a darker, bass-ier version of the tobasiche mezcla. This batch was the first time we’d tasted a mezcla from Lalo that included all three.

This mezcla showcases the depth and range of Agave karwinskii, adding a bit of body and sweetness to the overall profile by way of espadín. In all, it’s an excellent representation of what Santa Catarina Minas and Lalocura are all about, making it the perfect choice for for Volume One of Agave Mixtape.

*As is the case with all of Lalo’s mezclas, the three varietals were roasted, milled, fermented and distilled together.
